Second General Assembly and Winter Festival
🤝 Our second general assembly took place a few weeks ago. Once again, it was organized several weeks in advance by a working group. The working group gathered topics, arranged for translations, and invited members and contacts to the general assembly. What was new this time was that there wasn’t just whispered translation—it was delivered via microphones and headphones. This allowed for simultaneous translation into Arabic and French. In addition, everyone was systematically invited by phone this time.
👥 The meeting began with a game that also served as a look back at the past year. For example, everyone who had achieved success through counseling in the past year or who had helped renovate our space gathered in the center of the circle. Afterward, there was a large group session where everyone introduced themselves.
📝 At the first general assembly in July 2025, we decided to introduce a membership program at Kalk Solidarisch. Over the past few months, we’ve been working out exactly how this membership will function. The result was then vividly presented at the general assembly through a role-playing exercise.
🗣️ This was followed by a small-group session where we discussed how Kalk Solidarisch should be further developed in the coming year. Suggestions included developing collective campaigns, expanding our cultural events, and empowering women and queer people within the neighborhood union. Over the next few months, we’ll be working on implementing these and other suggestions.
✨ The general assembly concluded with a feedback session, an Albanian love song performed by a member, and the new members signing up on the membership list provided. Afterward, the afternoon transitioned into a small winter celebration.
💜 With the general assembly, we concluded what has been a very successful year for us with an uplifting day. In 2026, we aim to establish the general assembly as a regular event and continuously improve how it is organized. We are very much looking forward to that.
